Meet Anthony McPherson

Anthony McPherson, President of t-mac Mentoring, LLC, is a dedicated leader in youth empowerment with over three decades of experience. His journey began with the founding and management of The Gideon Group, Inc., a transformative organization dedicated to uplifting inner-city families.

​

Under Anthony's guidance, The Gideon Group achieved remarkable milestones, including securing subcontract partnerships to provide life skills and mentoring classes to over 10,600 students annually across more than 100 Chicagoland schools, churches, and non-profit organizations. Notably, Anthony's expertise extended to specialized mentoring courses for esteemed institutions such as the Matteson Police Department, Lydia Home Association, and various others, demonstrating his commitment to fostering positive change in diverse communities.

Anthony McPherson brings a wealth of experience and expertise to youth education and development. With a diverse background spanning over 30 years, he has made significant contributions in various roles. Anthony served as the Residential Care Administrator at a DCFS-funded facility for high-risk youth, honing his skills in managing complex environments. As an Athletic Director and Coach, he led elementary and high school teams to numerous victories, instilling values of teamwork and discipline.

His dedication to literacy and education is evident through his roles as an Adult Literacy Instructor and GED Preparatory Classes teacher, where he empowered learners to achieve academic success. Additionally, his extensive experience as an Educator for Special Learning Students (Special Ed) in both the Chicago Public and Charter School Systems showcases his commitment to inclusive education.

Anthony's impact extends beyond professional endeavors; for over 25 years, he has collaborated with his wife in various ministries, serving as youth leaders. His towering stature at 6'9" is matched only by his genuine and compassionate approach to mentoring, fostering meaningful connections with his mentees.

A graduate of Columbia College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Graphic Design, Anthony's career transition from graphic artist to mentor reflects his unwavering commitment to youth advocacy. As a devoted family man, he leads by example, exemplifying integrity and dedication as a husband, father to two daughters, and proud Paw Paw to his grandson.
